True Flood Risk
A real-time flood intelligence platform for building resilience
No-Cost Project Description
True Flood Risk provides cities with real-time, building-level flood risk intelligence that goes beyond traditional flood maps. While conventional maps show where water may flow, they do not indicate when individual buildings will actually flood, leaving communities exposed to unexpected damage, financial loss, and operational uncertainty.
This no-cost, low-risk project delivers property-specific situational awareness for both current and future flood risk, including major storms, heavy rainfall, flash flooding, and overwhelmed stormwater systems. Cities receive actionable insights on which buildings flood first, how deeply, and under what conditions, enabling faster emergency response, smarter mitigation planning, and more effective protection of critical infrastructure and vulnerable populations.
The engagement includes the delivery of building-level flood exposure data, structural elevation estimates (First Floor Height), and modeled flood scenarios over an initial eight-week deployment period, followed by up to six months of access to real-time monitoring and situational awareness dashboards. Cities can expect:
-
Real-time, property-level flood risk data integrated into GIS or emergency response systems
-
A live situational awareness dashboard for storm events and preparedness planning
-
Identification of high-risk buildings and critical infrastructure
-
Financial analysis showing impacts to losses, assessed value, and tax base stability
-
A Community Flood Risk & Resilience Synopsis Report with targeted mitigation recommendations
The project requires minimal effort from city staff. True Flood Risk manages all data processing, modeling, and deployment remotely, with no sensors, field surveys, or hardware installations required. Cities simply provide basic parcel data and designate a point of contact.
